NaNoWriMo Day 23

Hello. How are you? I hope you are well.

Why am I still doing this even though I’ve won NaNoWriMo? Because I’m not done just yet. That’s why.

Wanted to clear that up in case there were any questions about that still.

I went back and wrote another 1,184 words yesterday. That brings yesterday’s word total to 4,132 words. And my overall word count yesterday to 53,386.

Today, so far, I’ve written 2,750. It always make me happy when word counts end in round numbers like that. I don’t know why, but it does. This brings my over all word count to 56,136.

Again, I say so far. I do have more intentions to go back and write more as the day goes on. I just wanted to get this up so there’s one less thing for me to worry about.

I am on page 36 of 43 in my outline. That leaves seven pages, if my math is correct? I think so, yeah.

As of where I am in my outline right now, we’re basically at the climax or just before it depending on how you’d look at it. All the more reason why I want to go back and write more today. Because I’m at a super exciting part. It’s a super long part. But I also really wanna write it.

This also brings up the question of where my initial word count is gonna be once this is all done. I initially put out the assumption of it being about 80k, and I think that’s accurate considering everything that still has to happen. But I’m also not upset about that either.

So, I think that’s about all I have today. It hasn’t been too exciting and I haven’t had like a eureka moment or completely finished my outline or anything like that. So I guess I’ll just leave it here before I start on a tangent or something.

I hope you are having a wonderful day. And if it’s not wonderful, I hope it gets better. Stay safe, and I will see you next time.

NaNoWriMo Day 21

Hello. How are you today? I hope you are well.

Yesterday I did go back and write more. A lot more at that. How much you might be asking? 2,930 more words…

No, I am not joking.

Adding that to the 2,751 words I wrote initially, I ended yesterday with 5,681 words written total. This brings my overall word count to 47,478.

Believe me, I equally impressed and horrified with myself as well.

How much did I write today, seeing as I am so late on the upload?

Well, I’m glad you asked. So far today I’ve written 1,776 words. Which brings my overall word count to 49,254.

I know, very underwhelming compared to yesterday. And I’m not even sure I have the energy right now to go back and write more.

I had to go with my mom and do some running around this afternoon, and only got home like an hour and a half ago. So, I’m pretty tired and just wanna have dessert. My dinner wasn’t super fulfilling for me.

I’m still not worried about the word count. My goals now involve can I write the entire story by the end of the month. And with thirteen more pages before the end, I’m not sure I can. I am gonna try though.

I have all of tomorrow to myself. And I’ve found just how helpful writing sprints are for me. Whether they’re with other people or not, a timer helps me. I know it’s not something that works well for everyone, but it’s good for me to realize this about myself.

I think that’s about all I have to say at this time, so I’ll leave it here.

I hope you are having a wonderful day. And if it’s not wonderful, I hope it gets better. Stay safe, and I will see you next time.

NaNoWriMo Day 20

Hello. How are you today? I hope you are well.

So, spoiler, I didn’t go back and write more last night. When I left off the next scene was a massive one, and I wasn’t sure if I would have the energy enough to finish it. So guess what I started with today.

That scene also ended up being quite long, about two thousand words. So, I highly doubt I would have been able to do that last night without feeling horrific afterwards.

Today I’ve written 2,751 words so far. This brings my overall word count to 44,548.

I know I’m making that 50K. I’mma just say that right now.

I just wrote two really high intensity scenes where shit gets real. So now things are going to slow down for a bit, while more tension builds. We’re getting close to the climax so these things are to be expected after all.

I’m not sure, however, that I will be able to finish the entire novel by the end of the month. Bet your buttons that I’m gonna try! But I’m just not sure I’ll get there. We’ll see though, maybe I’ll surprise myself.

Alright, that’s about all I have for you right now. I hope you are having a wonderful day. And if it’s not wonderful, I hope it gets better. Stay safe, and I will see you next time.

NaNoWriMo Day 17

Hello. How are you doing today?

I did go back and write more yesterday, though not very much. I only finished up a scene. I wrote an additional 174 word. This brings my total for yesterday up to 2,458 and my overall total to 33,652.

Today, I managed to write 2,208 words so far. This brings my overall word count to 35,860.

I’m very close to 40K, super excited about that. I’m also almost finished writing part 2 of Amilia. I’m looking forward to writing part 3. There’s so much drama and action that’s going to go on, I almost can’t wait.

I am definitely capable of writing the 50K. As of right now that’s not a concern for me. Now I have a challenge for myself, because I’m only about half way through my outline. Can I finish the entire first draft before the end of the month? I think I can.

Anyway, that’s about all I have for you today. I hope you are having a wonderful day. And if it’s not wonderful, I hope it gets better. Stay safe, and I will see you next time.

NaNoWriMo Day 16

Hello! How are you today? I hope you are well.

So, today I’m super excited. I participated in my first write-in/writing sprint today. I joined Kate Cavanaugh and her community on her twitch today. Don’t worry, I will link to her at the end of this post if you haven’t heard of her before.

As I have not done a write-in before I was rather nervous, but she and the community were so welcoming and I felt at home right away. Her method for doing these sprints during this write-in was super relaxed and she’s very relatable.

I feel like I’m writing a review of her for some reason. I’m not, I swear! I’m just trying to share my experience with my first write-in.

I think we spent about an hour and a half together. I honestly don’t know for certain, it really didn’t feel like it.

But over the course of this write-in with her, I managed to write 2,284 words. All over the course of like forty-something minutes. I’m very pleased with it. This brings my overall word count to 33,478 words.

I didn’t go back and write more yesterday because I was just really tired. I am planning on going back and writing more today though. It probably helps that it’s only the middle of the afternoon right now instead of evening.

I’m even debating going back and writing with Kate again tomorrow. We’ll see.

Also, pro tip here. Don’t go into a write-in hungry. Time zones were a thing and it ended up with it starting at noon my time, and I don’t usually eat until 12:30 or 1. So, at the very least have snacks on stand by. Learn from my mistakes.

That’s about all I have for you today though. Keep scrolling to see more from Kate Cavanaugh.

I hope you are having a wonderful day. And if it’s not wonderful, I hope it gets better. Stay safe and I will see you next time.
